Describe your personal, educational, and professional experiences and how they informed your decision to pursue a graduate degree.
I originally wanted to pursue a career in Social Work, but I soon realized after undergrad that a career in that field was not for me. In addition, I felt stuck in my job and felt like I needed to go back to school to expand my opportunities on a professional level.
What challenges did you encounter along your educational trajectory? How did you overcome those challenges?
One of the things I struggled with the most during undergrad and grad school was definitely believing in myself. I used to compare myself to my classmates and often had convince and remind myself that I earned my place to be there.
What advice do you have for individuals who are interested in pursuing a graduate degree?
I would advise them to first identify what they’re passionate about and do their research as to whether or not the field of study they’re thinking of getting into, is the right for them.
What did you enjoy most about your graduate/professional program?
I enjoyed being with other like-minded individuals who have the same goals and aspirations as me, and learning from the professors who are the best in their field.
