We are thrilled to officially launch our fundraising campaign for the newly established TELACU Education Foundation (TEF) & Latina Grad Guide (LGG) Scholarship!

In an effort to continue empowering Latinas in our communities, TEF and LGG are joining forces to provide financial support and a network of resources to Latina students pursuing advanced degrees in graduate school. Latinas selected to be TEF/LGG Scholarship Recipients will receive a full complement of services and awards each year to ensure they thrive in their studies, graduate, and earn their Masters, PhD, JD, or specialized degree!

The Fund honors the paternal grandparents of Valerie A. Gómez, the founder of LGG. Her grandparents, Jesus and Maria Gómez, fled war-torn El Salvador in 1981 for a chance at a better life in the United States. They believed that education had the power to transform their children’s lives and encouraged them and their grandchildren to pursue higher education. Today, Jesus and Maria’s children and grandchildren have collectively earned nine bachelor’s degrees and three master’s degrees with one of their granddaughters currently enrolled in a PhD program.

More specifically, Latina Grad Guide supports Latinas interested in graduate and professional education through quarterly workshops, annual conferences, networking opportunities, and digital campaigns.
